Collaborative Reading Group

Welcome! We’re so glad you found us. Born out of a goal for international and collaborative research, this group is an online community of early career scholars in performance studies. Our readings reflect the posthumanist goals of the larger Performing Ends network, where we select texts that help us conceptualize the limits of performance, the porous edges of theatricality, and the possibilities of thinking, reading, and collaborating across fields. We meet once a month and alternate between reading group and collaborative writing sessions.

Our Values

Our values are evolving after each session, based on conversations and reflections from our readings. We prioritize slow reading. In response to Max Liboiron’s anticolonial methodologies, our reading group does not extract ideas from our readings but rather wades through ideas.

Eligibility

This group is made up of graduate students, postdoctoral researchers, and emerging independent scholars. Any thinker is welcome. You can sign up for email announcements at this link: https://forms.gle/BMZTu8xpQS3kyN6C8
